London day 4

...otherwise known as, "the day where we only bought one thing"

This was a "tourist trap" kind of day. We tried to avoid the stores because they would be super busy. So, instead we went sight seeing.?.?

We started off at Big Ben, the House of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. These buildings were incredibly huge and ornate - quite the spectacle.

We then wandered over to Channel 4. It was a really cool, ultra modern building of glass and steel by Richard Rogers (of course). After a few up close pictures of the structure, a security guard told me that I wasn't allowed to snap photos of the building. So we left and went to a British Pub for some traditionl pub fare - Bangers and Mash; and Steak and Ale Pie. Yum.
After lunch, we walked over to Buckingham Palace, where the Queen lives and where thousands (+2) tourists were. We snapped some photos and rested our feet before walking down to Trafalgar Square. Once again, thousands of tourists. So, we decided to head over to Chelsea and shop for shoes. Becky scored, I didn't.
We then went and got a pizza and went back to the Hostel. We walked 5 miles easily today and were asleep by 8:30. We woke up at 11:30, took sleeping pills and went back to bed. It was the first good nights rest we've gotten. we slept solidly through the night, as compared to our usual tossing and turning. Oh, did I mention we have bunk beds in our room? Two twin size beds, but we just share the bottom one. Yes, it's a little cramped.
Today, Sunday, we are just going to stay around here, get some tea and relax. We are in London till wednesday and want to avoid the tourists for today.
